Oh it’s been a while hasn’t it. We never really did manage to get into gear with the home growing or the chicken keeping.
Don’t get me wrong we’ve dabbled with chooks on and off over the years in this garden but we’ve came to the conclusion that the foxes are just too gallus these days so we can’t let them out during the day unless we’re actually in the garden. We’ve also played about with raised beds over the years but until last year it wasn’t more than a few 1m2 beds.
This year though there are big changes afoot. We started lifting the monoblock last year for some flower beds but we are aiming to lift it all and return it to lawn and beds with just a little bit of driveway rather than room for 5+ cars. That frees up space in the back garden for more vegetable growing space and a greenhouse possibly.
Thanks to CV-19 though we’re growing almost everything from seed this year but it’s the first time we’ve taken this seriously since we lived in East Kilbride so it’s time to get organised and get the planner out and see just how premature I was with some of these seeds…
